Tyler Vander Maas Sax Quartet

On Saturday, March 24th, (SCENE) Metrospace presents the Tyler Vander Maas Sax Quartet. Doors at 7:00, show at 7:30. Students: $3; general public: $5.

The group plays original arrangements and compositions by Vander Maas that could be classified as progressive jazz. The music is heavily influenced by traditional jazz forms and harmonies and uses those as a platform from which to explore new directions.

After the sax quartet and an intermission, Vander Maas will play a couple of electronic pieces that he wrote. Finally, the show will also include a performance of another composition for tenor sax and piano.
