The Whiskey Pickers, Nathan Alan, Harris Face

On Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m., (SCENE) Metrospace will host a concert featuring the Lansing-based bluegrass and roots act, The Whiskey Pickers, featuring guest artists Nathan Alan and folk-rock-blues artist Harris Face.

Admission is $5 at the door.
The Whiskey Pickers is a Lansing-based bluegrass group that performs a mix of traditional and original bluegrass music in their signature rowdy style. The band consists of Roger Tijerina on guitar, vocals and harp; Brian Bienkowski on mandolin and vocals; Brian VanAntwerp on fiddle and vocals; and Sam Winternheimer on string bass and vocals.
Harris Face is a folk-rock-blues artist from Washington, DC.  Percussive guitar, harmonica and emotive rock dominate his music, which draw comparisons with an acoustic Springsteen, the Counting Crows and modern roots crusaders like William Elliott Whitmore. Harris has just passed 100 plus dates on tour, including The Bitter End (NYC), Uncommon Ground (Chicago) and Legendary Dobbs (Philly). Face has also been showcased on WRGW-FM, WCOM-FM, WDCE-FM, and shared the stage with The Vespers (Every Step) and Brothers Lazaroff.  His newest EP "How the Story Goes", released June 7 was produced by Miguel Urbiztondo (Hotel Lights, David Lowry) at the Sound of Music Studios in Richmond, VA.
Nathan Alan is a Northern Michigan native now residing in the Lansing area. Alan has brought his brand of storytelling folk songs to many local stages. His writing is inspired by nature and the people in his life.
