East Lansing Sunday Soup No. 4

EAST LANSING, Mich. — (SCENE) Metrospace, 110 Charles St., is pleased to announce that it is preparing for the next installment of the grassroots, micro-funding event for local artists called East Lansing Sunday Soup, and that the gallery is currently accepting proposals for this event.

On Sunday, Sept. 30, (SCENE) Metrospace will host the fourth installment of East Lansing Sunday Soup. This event is directed by Luke Hackney; hosted by (SCENE) Metrospace director, Tim Lane.

The event is scheduled to last from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Admission is $5 at the door. The public is encouraged to attend.

The gallery is currently accepting artist proposals for this event. All proposals should be emailed to luke@retroduck.com.

The deadline for proposals is Wed., Sept. 26.

All proposals should include name, email address and a 500-word-or-less description of the artist’s project.

The Sunday Soup grants provide funding for small to medium-sized projects. The grants are completely unrestricted and will be awarded at the discretion of those who attend that month’s event.

Proposals for the grant are accepted up to the Wednesday before that month’s Sunday Soup event.

Those with accepted proposals will attend that Sunday’s event, paying the $5 admission fee, and will be given the opportunity to make a presentation and answer any potential questions.

When all presentations have been completed, the audience (including the artists themselves) will vote on the project they like the most.

The proposal with the most support will be awarded the Sunday Soup grant at the end of the day.
