Calliope, Origami Ghosts, Lac La Belle

(SCENE) Metrospace, 110 Charles St., is excited to announce that it will host a concert featuring local act Calliope on Friday, Aug. 17!!!

Calliope will be joined by touring Seattle band, Origami Ghosts, and Detroit-based Lac La Belle on Friday, Aug. 17.

The concert begins at 9 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.

Local favorite Calliope describes themselves as "over ten years of spacey indy pop." Featuring Jason Lantrip, Andy Dryer, Joe Bakatis III and Matt Ellison, the band blends post-rock and dream-pop with excellent vocals. And if that isn't enough, Calliope bathes the background of their set with a psychedelic film of swirling colors and images.

Origami Ghosts is the musical project of Seattle native John Paul Scesniak. The group's light, playful, and thoughtful sound draws from folk, pop and rock. Scesniak has performed in Seattle, Japan and France.
