Anacortes, Washington-based MOUNT EERIE is the songwriting outlet of
Phil Elvrum, whose psych-pop releases under the moniker of THE
MICROPHONES delighted listeners and critics alike with their detailed
lo-fi production as well as their gently poetic narrative arcs. A
luminary of the K RECORDS family, Elvrum has been involved in much of
the musical outpouring from the Pacific Northwest, from OLD TIME
RELIJUN to D+.
(SCENE) is pleased to present a special Wednesday evening ALL AGES
show featuring a full set from MOUNT EERIE, with additional sets by
Canadian singer-songwriter JULIE DOIRON (formerly of indie rock
noise-pop quartet ERIC'S TRIP), and Doiron's side-project with fellow
musician Dick Morello, CALM DOWN, IT'S MONDAY.
Also featured Wednesday evening will be Lansing's own indie-folk
septet FRONTIER RUCKUS, fresh off their appearance at the CMJ Showcase
and heralding the release of their debut full-length CD "The Orion
Songbook" on Ann Arbor-based QUITE SCIENTIFIC RECORDS.
Due to limited space at the gallery, advance tickets are encouraged,
as remaining space will be offered on a first come, first served basis
for this special engagement.
