Poetry Reading

(SCENE) Metrospace will host a poetry reading featuring Aaron Curtner, Boog, John Thompson and Angela Vasquez-Giroux on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The reading will begin at 7 p.m., with each poet reading between ten and fifteen minutes. There is no cost to attend this event.

Curtner is an artist and poet who has been involved in community arts his whole life. Boog and Vasquez-Giroux are poets who have studied with Michigan State University’s distinguished professor and poet in residence, Diane Wakoski. John Thompson is a stoic, yet animated poet, who was a regular at the poetry reading series at Magdalena's Teahouse.

The poets have appeared in local magazines, including “The New Earnestness” and “The Pure No Nonsense,” as well as Virginia Commonwealth University's publication “THINK”.
