Local Filmmaker Focus - Jacob Mendel
(SCENE) Metrospace presents an evening of film featuring short films selected by Okemos-based filmmaker Jacob Mendel. The viewing will take place Saturday, August 4 at 8:00. Doors will open at 7:00.
Mendel, a recent graduate of Okemos High School, has completed a number of short film projects that belie his years. With an interest in styles as diverse as French New Wave, Surrealism, and Film Noir, Mendel makes use of local settings and talent to produce films with atmosphere and textural depth. He will present both his own work, plus short films that have born an influence on his emerging style.
The evening's films will be shown on (SCENE) Metrospace's newly donated seven foot square projection screen.
This event is ALL AGES, smoke- and alcohol-free, and open to the public. There is a $3 admission for the event at the door and proceeds will benefit Mendel's upcoming film projects.
