"Data Transfer"
EAST LANSING, Mich. - East Lansing's alternative art space, (SCENE) Metrospace announces an upcoming exhibit of digital artwork and art influenced by the information age. Artists from all over the country have submitted diverse works that focus on both the connective and disconnective potentials of modern technology.
The exhibit will open with a public reception Friday, January 19, 2007. Music will be provided by the electronic music collective Blank Artists. The reception will also include a hands-on interactive digital sand-painting table where the public can print out their own artwork! "Data Transfer" will continue through Sunday, February 18, 2007.
(SCENE) Metrospace is located at 303 Abbott Road, at the Albert Street intersection and is open Wednesday through Friday from 1-4 p.m. through the gracious support of volunteers, as well as regular hours Fridays from 6-9 p.m., Saturdays from 6-9 p.m., and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. during scheduled exhibits. For more information, please contact Peter Richards at (517) 319-6832.
***A SPECIAL NOTE: (SCENE)'s phone is located in a separate building, at 410 Abbott. If no one answers the phone during regular gallery hours, it's because we are at 303 Abbott (The Gallery) rather than by the phone (at 410 Abbott). The gallery space at 303 Abbott was graciously provided to us in "as is" condition, and is not equipped with a phone line at all! We understand this is an awkward arrangement and apologize for any inconvenience. We pledge to answer phone inquiries at the earliest chance - please leave us a message. Thanks for understanding!
