Alex Levine Quartet, Sunday, September 7th

(SCENE) Metrospace welcomes the Alex Levine Quartet to its stage on Sunday, September 7th, at 6:30 p.m., for a jazz concert.

Students, $5; All others, $10

Guitarist Alex Levine, now a Brooklyn resident, reconnects with longtime Michigan collaborators, Marcus Elliot, Ben Rolston, and Stephen Boegehold for a Midwest tour. The repertoire has been developed over four years of playing together, with an emphasis on original music.  Alex graduated from the University of Michigan 2012 with a degree in Jazz Studies, and is an alumnus of the Banff International Jazz and Creative Music Workshop. While in New York, Alex has had the opportunity to continue his musical studies with Miles Okazaki and Henry Grimes, and perform with renowned musicians from around the world. In March 2014, Alex was an artist in residence at the UNCOOL Jazz Festival, presenting concerts in Switzerland and Italy.
